LG Group’s Sol Modern has taken home Mixed-Use Project of the Year at the 2026 RED Awards, a fitting honor for a tower that has become one of the most significant additions to the Downtown Phoenix skyline in years.
At 29 stories and 1.3 million square feet, Sol Modern is the tallest residential building in the city, bringing 747 homes and a full city block of activity to the urban core. Ground-floor retail animates the street, while upper levels offer residents access to an exceptional range of amenities, including the biggest multifamily pool in Phoenix, outdoor kitchen and lounge areas, cabanas, citrus groves, a half-court basketball court, fitness turf, a dog park, multiple pools and spas, and rooftop views stretching across the Valley.
Getting there wasn’t straightforward. Tight downtown site conditions shaped every phase of construction, requiring creative logistics planning and close coordination among the project team. Unexpected foundation challenges early in the process led to a full redesign of the structural approach and a retooled concrete schedule, all while the team worked to keep residential units on track for early delivery. Week after week, the crew kept pace with a demanding pour schedule to maintain the project’s momentum.
